MISSION
STATEMENT Our mission is to continually strive for excellence in providing the highest
quality healthcare, transportation, and education to communities through the
courage, compassion and competence of our Teams. ARKANSAS EMERGENCY TRANSPORT 1-800-PICK-AET Arkansas Emergency Transport adheres to the highest standards of clinical
excellence. Each paramedic unit is staffed by an EMT-Paramedic and
EMT-Intermediate or EMT-Ambulance trained to respond to emergency and
non-emergency situations. Each paramedic crew operates under the supervision of
an emergency physician and is skilled in stabilizing and treating patients
during transport. In addition to emergency and non-emergency medical transports within the
state, AET will work to coordinate the appropriate type of transport to any
location in the continental United States. COURAGE, COMPASSION COMPETENCE TEAMWORK Arkansas Emergency Transport provides 24-hour statewide non-emergency
transport, as well as emergency transports in designed areas. Quality Care To assure that each patient receives quality medical care and is treated with
dignity and respect, Arkansas Emergency Transport has a Quality Improvement
Department that reviews medical care and patient satisfaction. Qualified Staff Arkansas Emergency Transport currently employs approximately 200 staff
members, including medical and support personnel. Our medical personnel hold the
following certifications and/or licenses: *EMT-Paramedic (EMT-P)- The highest skill level for Emergency Medical
Technicians. These individuals have extensive knowledge, skills and experience
in emergency care. Paramedics can perform Advanced Cardiac Life Support skills,
including cardiac defibrillation, endotracheal intubations and intravenous and
drug therapy. Several paramedics have also completed the Pediatric Advanced Life
Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Programs. *EMT-Intermediate (EMT-I)- Training includes all skills at the EMT-A level,
plus intravenous and drug therapy and more advanced airway management. *EMT-Ambulance (EMT-A)- These individuals are trained to provide emergency
care, including Basic Life Support, extrication and oxygen therapy. EMT-A’s also
have training in Emergency Vehicle Operations. *Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD)- These individuals are trained to provide
emergency medical instructions via telephone to the patient or family member,
while awaiting EMS personnel. Training includes 24 hours of call taking and
reviewing protocols in many different situations and basic life support. Most
EMD’s are trained at the EMT-A level or higher. There are four main functions of
the EMD—Receive and process calls; provide medical instructions to the patient
or family member and relay this information to the responding crews; dispatch
and coordinate EMS resources and coordinating services with other Public Safety
Agencies. *Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN)- Arkansas
Emergency Transport employs RN’s and LPN’s that have the necessary expertise to
assist with transports needing additional specialized care. This includes the
utilization of Trauma Nurse Specialists and Certified Emergency Nurses. Specialized Training All Arkansas Emergency Transport Paramedics are trained in Advanced Cardiac
Life Support (ACLS) and several are ACLS and PALS Instructors. AET offers CPR
training for all staff members, support personnel and to the communities in
which we serve. Several of AET’s Team members are BLS-Instructors,
Instructor-Trainers and Regional Faculty Members. Arkansas Emergency Transport
is a Community Training Center for the American Heart Association and is a
Training Site for the National Safety Council. Arkansas Emergency Transport has
on staff several EMT-Instructors, BTLS-Instructors and certified Child Passenger
Safety Technicians. Community Service Arkansas Emergency Transport is very committed to helping with community
service. AET supports programs such as Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts USA
